Materials & care

Know what you are wearing.

Every VORNEU object names its stones, metals, cords, and finishes. This guide explains what those words mean—and how each material changes with daily life.

Natural does not mean identical, and precious does not mean maintenance-free. We describe variation and wear as part of the object—not fine print to discover later.

Material library

Six materials, clearly stated.

VORNEU obsidian01

Volcanic glass

Obsidian

Deep, reflective, and naturally variable. Its glass-like structure benefits from protection against sharp impact.

Care Wipe with a soft cloth and store separately to reduce scratches and edge chips.
VORNEU jade02

Natural stone

Jade

Recognised by its quiet translucency and individual pattern. Tone and surface differ from one stone to the next.

Care Avoid impact, household cleaners, and long contact with perfume or lotion.
VORNEU earrings03

Natural quartz

Rock crystal

Clear quartz with natural inclusions that can catch and interrupt light. Variation is expected, not hidden.

Care Clean gently with a dry soft cloth and protect pointed or faceted edges.
VORNEU bracelet04

Gold over sterling silver

Gold vermeil

A gold layer applied over a sterling-silver base. The warm finish develops with use and is not solid gold.

Care Keep dry, avoid abrasion, and remove before swimming, exercise, or showering.
VORNEU silver05

Precious-metal alloy

Sterling silver

A durable silver alloy that naturally oxidises over time. That change can be polished back carefully.

Care Store dry in a closed pouch and use a cloth intended for sterling silver.
VORNEU cinnabar06

Manufactured decorative material

Cinnabar composite

A modern carved composite selected for its saturated red and stable decorative surface; it is not sold as raw mineral cinnabar.

Care Keep away from heat, solvents, aggressive cleaners, and prolonged moisture.

Everyday care

Three habits do most of the work.

Specific product instructions always take priority, but these simple practices are a strong starting point.

Keep pieces dry

Remove jewellery before swimming, showering, exercise, or household cleaning.

Wipe after wear

A clean soft cloth removes moisture, skin oils, and product residue before storage.

Store separately

Use a soft pouch or lined compartment so hard surfaces do not mark one another.
